It’s hard to even describe how amazing Croatia was (and that little piece of Bosnia we saw)! I have some busy weeks a head, but I’ll try to get back with some more accurate post about the places we visited… Our route was more or less this: Dubrovnik-Mostar-Zadar-Plitvice-Zadar-Plat(Dubrovnik) and from Plat we also did a quick visit to Cavtat. A lot of driving, but totally worth every kilometre.
It’s funny that the older I’ve become, the bigger role food has gotten in travels and in holidays. Like always before a trip I think of where should I eat and what special treats that country has that I have to try. The same applies to holidays: Christmas, Easter, First of May… You name it. Even if I don’t like all traditional foods related to the holidays, food and eating are things I’m mostly looking forward to when a holiday approaches.
Is this normal? Should I be worried? I don’t know, but oh how nice it was to do (and eat) donuts after a years break, since it’s May Day again! 😀
This week I got the dates for my summer holidays finalized. Because I have a new job, I only get a 6 day holiday, but combining them wisely with my shifts, I managed to get 12 days off. That’s already a good “time-out” of work, and of course a great chance to go somewhere. 😉
My summer holiday won’t be until the end of August, but I guess I could already start planning it, to make most of the twelve days. The question is, where to go? Somewhere cheap but nice? Somewhere when I can lay on the beach but still do and see stuff when I get bored? Right now I’m thinking Croatia or Greece etc. But a holiday by a lake in a cottage in Finland isn’t totally out-ruled yet either…
Some inspiration from previous travels from recent years. On my holiday, I wouldn’t mind sunny weather and this kind of views!
