3 AM Departure

Tomorrow this time I’m probably somewhere over the Atlantic on my way to Nicaragua. Finally! Almost everything is packed and it should be, have to go to bed early since my bus to the airport leaves 3.10 am. We’ll arrive to Managua late at night and spend the first night there, but then head to Granada for New Year’s. Lonely Planet’s characterization of the city is “photographers paradise”, so I can’t wait.

This is what day after tomorrow hopefully looks like for me! I’ll try to update some news already during the trip, if I just have time somewhere along the way. Flight route looks like this: Helsinki-London-Miami-Managua, Managua-Miami-Minneapolis, Minneapolis-Chicago-New York-Helsinki.

Happy Stress-Free-Mas

Don’t I just love the sound of silence and the tiredness that gets to you when all is done. I just returned my last coursework for this semester, holiday season can finally begin! So maybe now on I just relax on the couch, visit the gym for the last time this year, watch the final (ever) episode of Gossip Girl and then tomorrow head to Turku to get some more rest.

It's looking like Christmas in here.

It’s looking like Christmas in here, hope the holiday spirit has wafted all the way to Turku too.

The only thing there is still to do, is to pack though. I need to pack for Turku and for Nicaragua (less than two weeks for the departure!) and then there’s the gifts Santa’s little helpers dropped by, that need to be carried under the Christmas tree… But I’ve decided, there’s no more vacancy in my head for stress this year, so I’ll  rather concentrate on the good things holidays offer: sleep, chocolate… and moments like this:

Happy Holiday Season you all! 🙂

Holiday Surprise

Things that are great just now:

  • Ginger bread cookie dough (it’s so delicious…)
  • Christmas (well, it’s Christmas!)
  • My life

Yes, despite the never-ending school and work-hunting stress, my life is awesome just now. It just got a whole lot better, when I got a great surprise package this morning all the way from the US. And Christmas break is just around the corner, I get to spend it in Turku with family and friends. And before New Year, I’m already on my way to Nicaragua. So what is there to complain?

The best surprise package guarantees, I have something to wait for for all the days between  Christmas eve and New Years.

Okay, so the postman brought me a mystery package and inside I found thousands of presents. Okay, no I'm exaggerating a little bit...

Okay, so the postman brought me a mystery package and inside I found thousands of presents. Okay, no I’m exaggerating a little bit, but there where many…

It turned out to be line of super-cute knit mittens and hats, all filled with presents or few... And little cards with different messages and directions when to open it. What a great idea.

It turned out to be a line of super-cute knit mittens and hats, all filled with gifts or few… Some presents where even too big for the hats and mittens. And they had little cards attached with different messages and directions when to open the presents. What a great idea!

Thank you N & T for making my day!

This Sunday

Today I’ve been mostly Christmas-shopping and lazing around, but I also stopped by at this Design-market  with H. The design-market was arranged in the community center right next to my place, so I thought why not go check what’s going on in there.

I expected to find all christmassy-things in there and went there to get some gift ideas. In the end (unexpectedly) mostly the jewelry stands got my attention…

The most interesting booth for me was undoubtedly the booth with "Kooky Gems" jewelry. But I curbed myself and didn't bring any new earrings home...
